The climb to the top of Split Rock

One of the things that I have always wanted to do since I was little, was climb split rock. This rock formation has been the main attraction from my Aunts living room window for as long as I can remember. We had this video of my Dad and Uncles (quite drunk) climbing out to the rock and getting caught in the tide. My sister and I used to watch it all the time. Fascinated that the tide can come in that quickly, oh and also, that Dad may have had a few too many. (This didn't happen very often).

Now bear with me as I had over 700 pictures to choose from for the entire NB trip.
It was hard to weed pictures out.

The long walk down the beach to get to it.

What you can't see in this shot is that the crevice that Josh is jumping over goes pretty much straight down to the bottom. It was not a wide jump but pretty scary (for me) none the less.

Freedom! Doesn't this remind you of that MC Hammer video? All Josh needs is a robe.

This is the ledge on which Josh was standing. It was maybe 2 feet wide.
Nothing I would have attempted.

Wow Jen - these pics are gorgeous. I have yet to visit the east coast, but i'll get there one day.

I can't believe you actually have an "Uncle Buck"! LOL.
