Meet Jenga, The Newest Furrball...

Jenga came into our family on Tuesday, July 25th.

I picked him up in a box in the evening from the West End. Jake was asleep in the back seat, so I went in and got Jenga and put the box in the front seat. I drove for about 5 minutes when Jenga popped his head out of the box. Fearful that the little guy might manage to get under the pedals of the car, I promptly pushed him back in the box and covered the hole with a blanket. I had gotten 15 minutes or so driving on the 416, when he popped his head out again. Still managing to drive and get him back in the box I kept going. The 3rd time he popped out I was 5 minutes from home, and he slipped out of my hands and got to the far side of the seat where I couldn't reach him. I kept driving, all the while keeping an eye on where he was going. Jenga crawled into the back seat and crawled right over top of Jake and found a nice warm comfy spot in between Jake's legs in his car seat. And Jenga promptly fell asleep. They were utterly adorable the 2 of them sleeping together. But the funny part was neither one of them knew each other existed.

I pulled in to my driveway very quietly and told Josh to come check it out. As Josh got to the car, Jenga had woken up and was stretching. That movement then woke Jake up. As Jake moved, the kitten realized that he was a live person and jumped out Jake's reach. The look on Jake's face was priceless. The 2 of them "discovering" each other that way was so cute and funny I had to write it down.
