Pre-School of Rock
Jake wants to be a Rockstar! I know this because he has been giving me hints for weeks. I've in the past have chosen to ignore them and put them off as really cute things that all babies do, like play drums on mom's bum, and head banging to AC/DC. But lately his actions are speaking a little louder, more like NIN!
We went to the Oak on Friday night, where this guy was playing a gig. (I say guy, because there was no band, just this guy with his guitar. He was quite good considering he was a one-man show.) Anyways.... We were out on the patio and the "guy" was playing inside but the huge windows were open. Well Jake thought the show was great. So great, he wanted to join in and started dancing and singing along. The "guy" thought this was the funniest thing ever and started by introducing Jake as his band member. Which brought on a few cheers from the bar. Now this was all Jake really needed to get himself warmed up. The "guy" picked Jake up and brought him over to the microphone where Jake (never one to be shy) proceeded to sing his version of "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star". Now in true rockstar fashion Jake ended up with a few fans who came to buy him drinks (or candy, and balloons, and toys). Not even kidding.

And if Friday night wasn't enough to convince me, this morning on my way into work had me thinking. I was driving Jake to daycare this morning, and scanning through radio stations as I usually do, trying to find something good. When I hear from the back seat, "Go back, Mom. Go back." So I did as he asked me and went back a station. Fat Boy Slim was singing "Funk Soul Brother, check it out now..." And from the back seat I hear "Thanks mom! It's a good one" As his little feet kicked to the beat and his head bobbed like it was the coolest beat he'd heard.
Oh Man am I in trouble!

Awe! SO cute.
When he makes it big, do you think he'd let me be a roadie? LOL!
I knew it! I knew it! Every since he was 4 months old! He was born to be a rock star.

You'd better start him on JD now then so he's a hardened drunk by the time he makes it big. Those sloppy newbie rockstars are embarassing.
