EEEEEWWWWW!!!! YUUCCCCKKK!!!

Jake is loving his new day care! I am so glad that search is finally over. He is always very excited to see Lynne, the day-care-ess. Every morning he gives her a huge grin. Even on mornings, where he really wasn't up to par, he always has smiles for her. I'm sure she gets lots of kises and hugs from the little guy too. In the first week of his going to the new digs, Lynne had Little Ray's Reptile zoo bring a few of their critters to her backyard. I think Jake thought it was pretty cool. What do you think?

Meet Jenga, The Newest Furrball...

Jenga came into our family on Tuesday, July 25th.

I picked him up in a box in the evening from the West End. Jake was asleep in the back seat, so I went in and got Jenga and put the box in the front seat. I drove for about 5 minutes when Jenga popped his head out of the box. Fearful that the little guy might manage to get under the pedals of the car, I promptly pushed him back in the box and covered the hole with a blanket. I had gotten 15 minutes or so driving on the 416, when he popped his head out again. Still managing to drive and get him back in the box I kept going. The 3rd time he popped out I was 5 minutes from home, and he slipped out of my hands and got to the far side of the seat where I couldn't reach him. I kept driving, all the while keeping an eye on where he was going. Jenga crawled into the back seat and crawled right over top of Jake and found a nice warm comfy spot in between Jake's legs in his car seat. And Jenga promptly fell asleep. They were utterly adorable the 2 of them sleeping together. But the funny part was neither one of them knew each other existed.

I pulled in to my driveway very quietly and told Josh to come check it out. As Josh got to the car, Jenga had woken up and was stretching. That movement then woke Jake up. As Jake moved, the kitten realized that he was a live person and jumped out Jake's reach. The look on Jake's face was priceless. The 2 of them "discovering" each other that way was so cute and funny I had to write it down.

Father and Son

What jokers they are.

Jake's First Camping Trip

Jen, Ren, and their 2 kids Elliot and Ashton, organized a camping weekend at Pog Lake Campground in Algonquin Park. We had so much fun! We were very late getting there on Friday night. We arrived close to midnight. We managed to set up the tent in the dark but not a whole lot else. Jake crashed in our bed sideways, giving Josh and I a restless sleep. On Saturday morning it rained for a while. Luckily Jake was tired and we managed to keep him in bed until the rain let up.

It was great to see all 3 kids get along so well. Jake's first experience of playing in the mud was interesting. The pants he wore never recovered :). My fault for thinking pale grey was a grat camping colour. As Jen informed me, navy blue is the way to go.

We went on a hike and swam at the beach. We slept great on Saturday night. Josh set up the play pen inside the tent to put Jake in. So much better. Too bad it rained on Sunday morning. We all packed up early and headed home.

Reunion Part 2

A Reunion to Remember

What a fun filled day it was. The Nicholls Amazing Race was as competitive as always! I don't have many pics though. But I'll put up what I got.
